Hey Livejournal people. Long time no see.
I have an important announcement!!!
Our baby boy, Carter Isaiah was born Sunday, April 29 at 4:36am. He was 7lb 9oz and 21.5 inches long. He has light brown hair and looks identical to Justin except he has my ears! I am definitley in love... and adjusting to being a mom. It is AMAZING! And I am as tired as anticipated! I have a lot of pictures on facebook/myspace.
In other news, I graduate from graduate school on June 9 and I have interviews coming up and I am really excited!!!

well,
Marriage news: I am not sure who reads these things anymore... but life is good in marriage land. Having a lot of fun...living with your best friend, who happens to be a man. And many whom have lived with Justin would agree. Lots of manly things happen that are quite entertaining. Also, we just got an antenna because we don't have cable. You know your life is awesome and you are married when you watch the Tyra Banks show together and eat cereal out of the box in basically your underwear. I laugh a lot that is for sure. No babies as of yet, thank God. Although my maternal-ness has set in (that is what happens when you are around cute kids ALL the time!) and the plan is 2-3 years instead of 5 as originally planned. :-)
Grad news: Just finished summer classes today, so I am officially a 2nd yr grad student. I survived! I loved my last practicum at redwood- I worked with children and adults with multiple special needs. I have some stuff to take care of at the elem. school I'll be at in the winter, other than that... no classes until Sept 20. I start my full-time internship at Gateway Rehab Hospital Sept. 18. I am really nervous, but I have heard exellent things about the facility and supervisors.
Church news: It's tough being a youth minister's wife sometimes. I am sure all would agree. I just have to remind myself that I was a teenager once too... but seriously, it's a lot of fun too. Justin and I are learning a lot, making new relationships with people, singing a lot, and we LOVE the area that our church is in and can't wait to move there Dec 1. God continues to do great things at our church and I am pretty sure He has big plans! We are going to get a townhouse when we move down there and hopefully will be buying our house next year. I saw a relativley new home for sale that I liked, and it backed up to a llama farm. It was so wonderful! I don't think Justin liked the grazing llamas...
My birthday is soon!!! I am going canoeing on saturday.. and to toledo to visit my bestest twin in 2 weekends....anyways... that is all I got, anything else you are inquiring to know about, just ask!

We are getting married in about 53 days. OH MY GOODNESS! I am getting really nervous but last week on SB we found a fabulous apartment, the dress is currently being altered, bridesmaid shoes are all purchased, my hair do trial was a success, I worked out everyday last week, we packed all our things to move, and we planned our ceremony.
This is awesome news... I learned this in class, but decided to research it!

US News Magazine voted "clergy" and "speech therapist" among the top 10 best careers for 2006!

3 seconds from departure of grad school
Feb. 15th, 2006 | 09:33 pm

I HATE SCHOOL.
One would think that you'd learn only applicable stuff in grad school, but apparently that is not always the case. In undergrad I'd always think "I am never going to use that in the real world". Now that I am in grad school, 85% of the time I don't think that way. BUT I FREAKIN' WON'T USE THIS in the REAL WORLD... maybe in professor world, but NOT real world! GAH! This assignment is taking up my life. To top it off I have 2 research proposals to write, a treatment review paper, and I must perform 3 oral mechanism exams by Tuesday. Any takers? I get to look into your mouth, observe your tongue movements, and test your cranial nerves.
Only 5 more quarters until freedom and money.

I would just like to say a personal thank you to whomever decided to build a new rec center for UC. A 2nd thank you to the team who designed it. Sure, it looks like star trek enterprise... but it is flippin' awesome and the machines are amazing. Here's to a buffer me and also a thank you to myself for ultimatley paying for this "free" rec center.

long time no update

Practicum at Fairfield South is awesome. I love the variety of kids I get to work with, especially those individuals with special needs. I get to stay next qrtr, and this summer I will be at the Kelly OLeary Autism Center at Children's hospital (on top of 4 classes june-august). I hope to do my school full time practicum this fall, but we shall see. Justin has a 2nd interview sometime soon in KY... :-)
I hate midterms and school right now. I wish I could just stay at practicum always! I am also part of a research team studying/testing kids with low reading comprehension scores. When it is complete, my name will go on a published journal article!
I need a thesis idea....
and that is all!

2006 will be a crazy year of finishing up year one of Masters and attending lots of weddings, including our own.. which is becoming more and more real.
In other news, I have decided to start my business in Mary Kay as a consultant, so if you are interested in the products (cosmetics and FABULOUS skincare), check out the website and place your orders! ***Also, if you would like a free facial, please let me know.*** I'd love to come to your place and let you try before you buy! My debut party will be in February, but I would love to throw a facial/makeover party for you and your friends, so if you want to be a hostess let me know.

You can also send me your email/home address for a beauty book:
Contact me: ashbycj@email.uc.edu
Please be praying about this opportunity... AND Justin leaves for Hondurus Wednesday, so please pray for him and his team!
School tomorrow!!! I really want to not ever go back, but I know there's a reason I am there. This quarter might be the most difficult for me. Unless I find my swallowing disorders class intriguing.

5 months today!!!
...and Christmas is soon! It doesn't look like it's going to be a white Christmas, but last year's 12 inches made up for that.
Our Christmas musical "The Christmas Shoes" at church went so well on Sunday and I think my solos went well- I sang the Grinch song and 3 lines in another song, and spoke 3 lines.. and Justin had the lead role, he should be on a soap opera.
Someone tell me I am not the only one who still watches MTV late at night and watches their teenaged reality shoes like Miss Seventeen and Making the band.
Well I work alot these days and other than that, I got nothing. I am enjoying not being in school right now, and well, God is SOOO good (but more to come on that later...I think patience really pays off!)
Merry Christmas!

Does anyone know where I can purchase sheet music for a good price? And my sheet music, I am referring to Broadway music... it's for a big event that is happening in less than 5 months and I need it for Justin's brother who is our pianist. Thanks kids.
